About Me

Things I like and enjoy

This is my spot on the web where I post random bits about my life, my work.

I enjoy collecting antique typewriters, reading books on business, organic gardening, traveling, playing with my three wiener dogs (Hoochie, Holden & Henry) and living life with my partner Paula.

Italy 2010

April 2, 2010

What's going on with me lately. Super pumped about our upcoming vacation..Leaving on our first trip abroad in 2 weeks. We will be in Rome on one of the towns' major religious holidays. Should be interesting. Paula had no clue that it was Holy Week. That will make the trip all that more interesting! Can't wait!

That's me. Winter 2009.

Love. Love. Love.

Love the way artist outlines the buildings. Crisp. Architectural. I wish I could draw like that.

This artist is one of my favorite urban sketchers.

Rework

ReworkI recently picked up a book on Amazon.com. The book is  Rework by the guys over at 37signals.

I am really excited about Rework, as I use Highrise in my daily work at Lone Star Maids. I’ve only read the first few pages and it is a fast and simple read. The authors come across as arrogant, but they are successful, so I can put up with their strong viewpoints to better understand my business.

More information on Rework can be found on Amazon and on the official website. Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson can be found tweeting @jasonfried and @dhh respectively, blogging on Signals vs. Noise and doing work as the company that was the basis for this book on 37 Signals.com.
